God’s Faithfulness
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins
and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
God is faithful to His word, His promises endure. He will never forsake us, Of this I am sure. Though I may sin, He loves me still. That's why He died Upon Calvary's hill. When I repent God will forgive, So, with Him I'll eternally live. Thank You for Your faithfulness, You're always there for me. Thank You for Your steadfast love, That truly sets me free!
I have spent some time recently meditating on God’s faithfulness. It’s comforting to know He keeps His promises. (Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is the faithful God who for a thousand generations keeps His promises and constantly loves those who love Him and who obey His commands. Deuteronomy 7:9) Even when we falter, He is faithful because He knows our hearts. He knows we’re not perfect, which is why repentance is crucial. It restores our relationship with God. (If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9)
I treasure the fact that I can depend on God. Whether I’m distraught, grieving, angry, confused, afraid, thankful, or joyful, I can turn to Him for an answer. His Word is full of truths that answer to all our emotions. (The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right. 2 Timothy 3:16) God created all our emotions, and He gave us His Word so that we know how to deal with them appropriately. He is faithful when we’re distraught. (Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7) He is faithful when we’re grieving. (The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18) He is faithful when we’re angry. (“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Ephesians 4:26-27) He is faithful when we’re confused. (Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for to You I entrust my life. Psalm 143:8) He is faithful when we’re afraid. (The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8) He is faithful when we’re thankful. (I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the LORD Most High. Psalm 7:17) He is faithful when we’re joyful. (The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him. Psalm 28:7)
God’s faithfulness is everlasting. No matter what we’re going through, He is there with us. It doesn’t mean that He will necessarily take away the circumstances, but He will walk with us through it. (Christ gives me the strength to face anything. Philippians 4:13) He gives us strength, peace, and guidance, meeting our needs where we are at. Whenever I’ve called on God in my distress, He has calmed my soul and quieted my mind so I could move forward. I am so grateful that I can always rely on God to meet my needs. Great is His faithfulness!
Lord, I am humbled by Your faithfulness to me. No matter what I’ve done or what I’m going through, You are there for me. I know I can count on You to love me, forgive me, help me, and comfort me. Your love endures forever! Amen
