The Kingdom Way
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Matthew 5:8 Lord, I want to be a Kingdom liver, Where my actions match what You say; I want to be a Kingdom thinker, Seeking God's will every day. So what is a Kingdom liver? It's putting others before you; It's knowing the will of God in your life And then following through. It's also conveying the Fruits of the Spirit Through a moral life; To be set apart for the Lord, And not cause others strife. And what is a Kingdom thinker? It's a redirection of our thoughts; To be joyful and content with our life, Instead of…

Baptism
“And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on His name.” Acts 22:16 Bring all your sins to the cross, Be baptized by His Word. No longer bound to worldliness, Rejoice! Let your voice be heard! Bury all your sins with Christ, Let the water wash them away. Feel His cleansing wash over you, You're born anew this day! You'll feel His love upon you When you arise with Him; Rejoice and go tell all the world! Never let your light go dim. Our church recently celebrated baptism Sunday. We had over 20 people publicly profess their faith. Some had planned…

God’s Faithfulness
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 God is faithful to His word, His promises endure. He will never forsake us, Of this I am sure. Though I may sin, He loves me still. That's why He died Upon Calvary's hill. When I repent God will forgive, So, with Him I'll eternally live. Thank You for Your faithfulness, You're always there for me. Thank You for Your steadfast love, That truly sets me free! I have spent some time recently meditating on God’s faithfulness. It’s comforting to know He keeps His promises.…

Voices
So, faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Romans 10:17 “When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come.” John 16:13 From the world, and nature, and Almighty God, Many voices are calling out. We must discern every voice we hear, Be it a whisper or a shout. The world cries out to go your own way, Do whatever pleases you. Yet consequences do more harm than good, So, we repent and start…

God Almighty
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8 Alpha and Omega That is the Lord Almighty; Always was, always is, And always He will be. Isn't it assuring To know God is that way? Never changing, a steady Rock, Forever and a day. One on whom we can depend, Our Shelter in time of need; He's faithful to His promises, So from worry we are freed. We hold You up in reverent awe, Almighty God, our Lord! “Holy, holy, holy art Thee!” We shout in one accord. God Almighty. It’s a common phrase…

Attributes of God
I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works. Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness and shall sing of Your righteousness. Psalm 145:5-7 Almighty Beautiful Compassionate Director of my path Eternal Faithful Generous High Priest Invincible Just Knows my name Loving Merciful Noble Omnipotent Preserver of Life Quencher of my soul Redeemer Sanctifier Teacher Unparalleled Victorious Watchful over me X-rayer of my heart Yahweh Zealous It’s a new year, a blank slate ready to be filled in with activities, appointments, events, trips, etc. As I…

Thanksgiving
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good. His love endures forever. Psalm 136:1 The Heart Acknowledges Numerous Kindnesses Sent by God In Various ways Invoking Never-ending Gratefulness Our country is celebrating Thanksgiving this week. It’s a time to reflect on the many blessings in our lives. Last year my pastor challenged his congregation to write down 3 different things every day that we are thankful for during the month of November. It was part of a list of things we can do when we are disappointed. When we focus on our blessings rather than our misfortunes, it changes our attitude. At first it was easy to think of…

Committed to Christ
If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. Matthew 16:24-25 What is driving me? What's the purpose of my actions? To serve God? Others? Me? Where lie my passions? I don't want to be a lukewarm Christian. Giving God what is left Instead of offering Him my best Would only leave me bereft. So I will examine my heart daily: What needs to be laid down? What is my cross to bear So that I serve God alone? I'll commit…

In My Prayer Closet
My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him. Psalm 62:5 Solitude Get alone with God Just as Jesus did. Pencil in some time with Him On your daily grid. Silence Turn off all the noises As you come to Him to meet; So you can be tuned in to Him, Hearing God’s heartbeat. Serenity When you’re quiet before the Lord, A sense of peace will descend. You’ll hear the still small voice of God Calling from deep within. In the last post I wrote, Being a Mary, I talked about finding the Mary inside you. Once you’ve “found” her, you’ll need to carve out…

Being a Mary
She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what He said. Luke 10:39 Busy! Busy! Busy! That seems to be the thing to say when asked how you’re doing. Busyness is almost worn like a badge. It’s as if the busier we are, the more successful we look. I heard a quote the other day: “Busy is the new happy.” I beg to differ. I like doing things and being productive, but I don’t want to be busy. That would make me stressed, not happy. Which is what Martha was feeling. (But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to Him…
